Warranty

Backed for life — and here’s exactly what that covers

Plenty of companies say “lifetime warranty” and leave it there. Below is our actual coverage, component by component, with the parts that aren’t lifetime shown just as plainly as the parts that are. The full legal document is linked at the bottom.

Lifetime

System dry parts

All mechanical and non-consumable components that don't come into direct contact with water.

5 years

Control valve, circuit board and filtration media

Against defects in materials and workmanship under normal operating conditions.

1 year

Labor

Labor-related issues arising from the original installation, for one year from the date of purchase.

Component by component

The whole table, nothing hidden

This is the manufacturer-backed coverage on each part of the system. If you’re comparing companies, ask for theirs in the same format.

Storage tanksLifetime
Media tanksLifetime
System dry partsLifetime
Control valves5 years
Filtration media5 years
Circuit board5 years

Coverage applies to the original purchaser. Replacement parts are covered for the remainder of the original period and must be fitted by an Honest Water Co–approved technician. Labor for component replacement isn’t included after year one.

The fine print, up front

What isn’t covered

Every warranty has exclusions. Here are ours, before you buy rather than after something breaks.

  • Misuse, abuse, neglect or accidents
  • Improper installation or unauthorized repairs
  • Acts of nature — including flooding and freezing
  • Water conditions that foul filters, resins or membranes
  • Unauthorized modifications to the system

Coverage is valid when the system is installed, operated and maintained to Honest Water Co guidelines. Our total liability is limited to the original purchase price of the system.

Keeping it healthy

Maintenance, honestly

  • Check the salt

Look in the brine tank monthly at first, then every two to three months once you know your household's rhythm. Low? Pour a bag straight on top.

  • Change RO filters annually

Once a year on the tank system. Tankless cartridges are a quick swap you can do by hand — no tools, no visit needed.

  • Leave the bypass accessible

If a plumber ever needs to work on your house, being able to reach the bypass saves everyone time.

  • Call us before you call anyone else

Unauthorized repairs void coverage. If something seems off, ring us first — it's usually a setting, not a fault.

Questions

Warranty questions

What does 'lifetime' actually mean here?

It applies to the original purchaser, for as long as you own the system: the tanks, the ceramic discs in the valve, and the dry parts that never touch water. Those are the components that would otherwise force a whole replacement, which is why they're the ones we back for life.

Why is the control valve 5 years and not lifetime?

The ceramic discs inside it are lifetime — those are the wearing part. The valve body's electronics and moving assembly carry 5 years, which is the manufacturer's backing. We'd rather show you both numbers than average them into one that sounds better.

Is labor covered after the first year?

The parts warranty continues, but labor for a component replacement isn't included after year one. Ask any company you're comparing us against for the same two numbers separately — parts and labor — because plenty of 'lifetime warranties' quietly mean parts only from day one.

How do I make a claim?

Call us on (817) 533-0907 or email hello@honestwaterco.com. You'll need proof of purchase, your installation documentation, and for manufacturer parts a return authorization number, which we issue.
